Glass, Symphony No.6 (“Plutonian Ode”) (Orange Music Mountain): The world’s most popular composer proves his mettle once more, providing a background of Wagnerian grandeur for Allen Ginsberg’s antinuclear poem. In the second of two disks, Ginsberg’s own reading of the text is superimposed over the first disk’s impassioned performance by the soprano Lauren Flanigan, the conductor Dennis Russell Davies, and the Bruckner Orchester Linz.
